How to Join 4-H -
Merced County 4-H Youth Development Program offers a wide variety of opportunities in non-formal learning settings. These include clubs, camps, special interest, and enrichment programs.
| 4-H Clubs are community based and volunteer run. All twenty plus 4-H clubs in Merced County offer many project topics from traditional animals to rocketry and arts and crafts. Youth in grades 4th-12th are eligible to participate in club programs, with some clubs offering activities for mini-members in 2nd-3rd grade levels. | |
| Camps allow members to enjoy and learn about outdoor living. Five-day sessions of 4-H Adventure Camp are held each year in the nearby mountians. Youth campers are in 4th-8th grades. The camp is run by a staff of high school students, with adult volunteers to guide them. | |
| Special Interest Groups programs target short-term interests. These include Ag Literacy at the Merced County Fair and Friends Helping Friends. | |
| 4-H Enrichment Programs work in collaboration with other agencies and schools. This could also include afterschool programs. |
